Adopt-A-School

The Peoria Jaycees is an active participant in Peoria School District 150's Adopt-A-School Program. The purpose of the Adopt-A-School Program is to utilize the expertise of the community to enrich and improve the education of public school students in Peoria; to foster a better understanding in the community of the public school system. Some of the activities that the Peoria Jaycees has done for our Adopt-A-School, Calvin Coolidge Middle School, include:

• giving special tours of the Peoria Jaycees Haunted House; 
• providing incentives, like taking students to the premiere of Harry Potter, to encourage students to read through the Accelerated Reader Program;
• bring holiday joy through the Santa Helper's project where Jaycees take students Christmas shopping;
• holding car washes to raise money for the school;
• mentoring at-risk students;
• and much more!
